I won! Now what?

I won this set of Nirvana Dot Pop from Nancy's Notions quilting weekend last weekend.
They are adorable!

Just not sure what pattern to use them in?
Thoughts?

Congratulations on winning! That is pretty fabric. I've always thought, if I ever bought a jelly roll, I'd make a double Irish chain quilt. But that's just me:) I'm sure someone else will have a brainwave.

Congratulations! l am addicted to entering give aways. I am surprised how many quilters don't enter the blog or Facebook give aways. So far this year I have won a 12 piece collector's set of Aurifil thread. 2 Moda jelly rolls, 2 Moda charm packs, 2 Quilter's Select rulers, a seam ripper, awl, wooden pressing iron, A Kaffe Fassett fat quarter bundle, and a quilt book and my last win was last week when I won a copy of Quiltmakers 100 block issue. There are hundreds of give aways each week. I use to post links where to enter but not allowed to anymore.

those are delightful fabrics, sorry, no pattern suggestion

I just bought a jelly roll with the plan to make a tuffet. Your fabric would make a beautiful tuffet!

I used to enter everything. The one and only time I ever won was in 1968, a horse blanket.

I never win anything. Those fabrics are beautiful. Maybe they would look pretty in a braid quilt. I saw this one recently on a blog that I follow that is really pretty and different. Scroll down almost 1/2 way to the May 5th blog entry.

lucky you!!! my friend just did a tiny pinwheel pattern with dots. please show us what you do.

Onebyone 05-12-2017 05:41 PM

Oh my, never think you never win anything. Think I want to win and I have a chance. I haven't won a big one yet (I did win a Brother sewing machine a few years ago) but I get a thrill out of the smaller items and it keeps my spirit up to enter more. At guild a few members got very upset that I won the big prize basket for UFO finished that year. Finish one UFO and get a ticket. I was the only one that had only one ticket. I won. I was more shocked then anyone. But sadly a few were upset they had more tickets and didn't win. The next year it was announced only five or more ticket holders would be allowed for the draw for the big prize. For Real! had a board meeting vote on it. I won Viewer's Choice at the local quilt show that year so I still came out the winner. LOL

Lucky, lucky you!!! Like all the quilt patterns suggested. You might also look at MSQC's Summer in the Park. It looks really easy and fun!

Congratulations on your win. That is beautiful fabric. I em looking forward to seeing what you make with it.

Yes, our guild has had "winner's envy" when one woman won the quilt with the purchase of 1 ticket and another one had purchased about 60 tickets. The loser got really upset, but there was no collusion, so she was left to nurse her hurt feelings.

sprice 05-13-2017 05:04 AM

Wow, one-by-one, you are really into this--and lucky too. Only time I got annoyed about a drawing at a quilt meeting-- They drew a lady's ticket, threw it back into the pot, and drew her again for the next prize. I didn't even care if I won--just wasn't handled well.

quilterpurpledog 05-13-2017 07:25 AM

Congratulations! It is beautiful and will, in time, inspire a great project!

Those are such cute fabrics! I'd do a Bento Box quilt with them.

You can seperate out your strips with white backgrounds for the 'whites' and just add other whites to them, as needed. IMO you need color and white to really make this quilt POP.

She should have said 'no thank you' after winning once already. That would be appropriate and classy.

I just bought a jelly roll to try this simply woven quilt...free pattern from Moda Bake Shop:

Onebyone please inbox me! I love entering contests but don't know of many places to do so.

Congratulations on winning. I would check MSQC tutorials as Jenny Doan uses lots and lots of precuts for a huge variety of quilts that are quickly finished. I've made 3 or 4 of her tutorials for our biannual family reunions and they are always a hit.

madamekelly 05-13-2017 12:01 PM

I have a similar assortment of colors of a single print (17) and I am planning to use it with a white on white paisley background to make a "Jewel Box" quilt. Post what you make. Enquiring minds want to see.

Crispy_Frog 05-13-2017 12:32 PM

Congratulations! There are so many possibilities!

fish92241 05-13-2017 01:02 PM

My favorite pattern for strips. Easy and great looking. Summer in the Park by MSQC.

ctrysass2012 05-13-2017 07:12 PM

MSQC has a tute/pattern called Flutterby the would look really nice with those fabrics.

Krystyna 05-14-2017 03:34 AM

Lucky you! I'm afraid I'm no help on picking a pattern, but maybe a rainbow sequence with white to make the colors pop? Enjoy!

Onebyone 05-14-2017 08:15 AM

Too many flash give aways to post. I use to post the give aways that were up for entering longer then a day. Facebook is full of them, quilt magazine sites, fabric manufacturers sites, sewing machine sites, quilt designer sites, thread brand sites, quilt shop sites, notion manufacture sites, batting sites, quilt book publisher sites, online class sites, online quilt video sites, and everyone of them has a facebook page. I miss most of them as there are too many to check. I enter what I happen to see at the time.
