I won!!!

I opened an email last week saying I had won the prize from Sewing4Home.com, and they wanted some facts about me such as age and address, etc. I went to the site to make sure it wasn't some spam, and there was my name! I can't find that page now, but last week I did find it.

Anyway, my package arrived yesterday and here is a picture of my prize....Isn't it great?!!!!! Please give me some ideas of what to make to let the fabric shine and take the spotlight. I'm thinking of putting it together with a white or off-white, or even black, but have no idea of the pattern to use.

By the way, those are 4 Anna Maria Horner half-yard prints! I'm in love!

Thanks for any ideas. Ok, now stand on your heads! If you will right-click and choose "open in new tab" then go to that tab, it will be right-side-up.

Lucky you! Unfortunately, I have nary a clue what to do with the fabrics. I do look forward to seeing what you do with them!

Congrats on your win! I don't know what to do with that lovely fabric but I know you will come up with something outstanding.

Congrats!! I think the fabric would make some great zipper bags or fabric boxes. I'm very happy for you. It's so nice to be surprised sometimes.:)

There is a variation of rail fence that might possible make your fabrics show off how pretty they are. I have seen it on our Quilting Board before, but I don't know what it is called. I made one years ago, using only two fabrics. One I wanted to show off and then white.

This may not be at all what you are thinking of...but if I can find a picture of my quilt....and you want to make a quilt using your great fabric, it might work for you. Instead of using one fabric, you could use all four of yours and scatter them around. It really is a rail fence type block, with the center part being wider than the outer two, and then the blocks are alternated. I was trying to make the airplanes look like they were flying in the clouds...though it didn't turn out looking that way. :)

It wouldn't let me right it up but that's ok. Congrats! Anxious to see what you decide.

Since they gave you snaps and zippers, it looks like they intended the fabric for BAGS! There are so many cute bag patterns out now, that's what I'd do.

Lucky you...pretty fabrics. I'm sure you will come up with something creative. Might they have ideas on their website?

lovelyl 09-15-2016 03:33 AM

Congrats! Those fabrics would look great in a shadow quilt. I think there is a shadow quilt pattern in one of Jenny Doan's Block magazines.

Plumtree 09-15-2016 03:59 AM

Woo Hoo!! Congrats! Looks like some bags are in your future :-)

Moonglow 09-15-2016 04:55 AM

Congratulations on your win. Enjoy your wonderful prize.

DebbieJJ 09-15-2016 06:11 AM

Thanks everyone! I'm still in awe that I won. Also, I mistakenly said that I got half-yards of each fabric.....I'm sorry. I only got 1/4 yds. of each .....And I had thought of bags already, so that may be what I make. Thank you for your ideas.

Congrats! Have fun with your new goodies. No reason to hurry deciding what to do.

DebbieJJ 09-18-2016 03:51 AM

Thanks Claire123, I am still waiting on inspiration for them. I don't do wall-hangings or table toppers, as I don't use them, and don't know of anyone who does in my family or friends. So I guess I am not in a hurry.
Right now, I'm working on a Cozy Quilt Designs quilt. I'm going slow so I don't make too many mistakes.....I hope I made them all on my first two blocks!:(:p

Wallets or those pea pods holders would be cute in these fabrics.

Painiacs 09-18-2016 10:56 AM

Congratulations! ! Lucky girl!!!

Congratulations, and have fun! I agree with sewbizgirl --and you don't have to use the fabrics all together (I wouldn't!) Visit your stash for something that goes with each focus (prize) fabric.
