I vote for straight too. For me when they are wonky, it makes me dizzy to try to look at the patterns of your beautiful blocks. Also just one block of pink or turk.

Wonky with the pink.......

I love the idea of all straight with the pink one wonky and calling it "drama queen". That just makes me smile :)

Those embroidery blocks are fabulous!! Makes me wish I had an embroidery machine!!

The first rule of quilting is...There are no rules! Your quilt, your ideas, your way. If a design pleases you, go for it. The so called "quilt police" can go take a flying leap. Be creative and enjoy the process. This is what I'm telling myself after 10 years of quilting. We shouldn't worry about what anybody else thinks about our creations as long as it pleases us. I love the pink block thrown in there only I personally would have to do more than one. Love your designs.

I love wonky b&w, and my red wool blazer with jeans!!

I like the straight layout with the fun pop of pink! :)

For me it's a bit too busy but, luckily for you, it's not my quilt, so you go for it!!!

I love this idea, very dramatic!
But in your photo, the very bright pink draws my eye immediately, to the exclusion of the other blocks. It feels slightly garish with this sophisticated black, somehow. You might try auditioning other colors in a darker value....royal blue, jade, crimson/wine/pomegranate/deep rose, or some form of orange/rust/deep pumpkin, even purples. In any event it's *your* quilt and will be delightful when you are finished! Jan in VA |
