There are all these new lines of fabric with boy scout themes. I have two scouts this year, and I'll have 3 when August comes around and the new year starts.

We have a small pack and all our adult volunteers work really hard, especially the packmaster. I'd like to make a wall hanging or something for him that has the names of the kids in the different dens in it. It'll be too small to use their hand prints, so I was thinking of putting some type of signature blocks in or something for the kids to write on.

Do any patterns come to mind? I don't mind applique so even if there's a cute pattern somewhere, boy oriented since it's boy scouts, I can applique their little signature squares on.

I want to accentuate the print on the fabrics more than the piecing because I'm going to either cover them with applique or have boys write on them somewhere.

Any ideas?

There is a free pattern download on Robert Kaufman's website that is made for his Boy Scout fabrics and I think you could use your ideas for having the boys add something on the bigger squares (they could be signature blocks of sorts)

Here is the link http://www.robertkaufman.com

Thank you. The one with the appliqued fleur de lis's looks really good.
