Ideas to hang a diamond shaped quilt on a wall
1 Attachment(s)
I would like to hang Convex Illusion on my wall above my bed. Any ideas? Thank you.

I might get a large piece of foam core or cardboard and cut it to match the shape. I would hand sew with black thread along the black edge to the foam core. I would them put a nail or hook on the wall where I wanted to hang it and make a small hole in the back of the foam core to hang it.
p.s. Awesome wall hanging! |
make a kite-like frame for it. then it can hang from one point

Awesome quilt. I never had this problem. Good luck with getting this quilt hung.

I agree that framing or spray gluing to foam board would work. The other option might be to make a criss-cross frame (like a kite frame). You can either sew it in or just make loops at each of the 4 points that are about 1/2" in from the edge; then, sew a hanging sleeve on top of that toward the top.

I had a hexagon shaped wall hanging (from a swap) and I hand
stitched some small loops on the back and used the command small hooks. Below is a link to the hooks I used. Command |
The Celtic knot one I made for my daughter, I put triangle pockets at each corner and then cut fairly thin dowel rods in the pockets and hung it from the top.
I've also just used push pins in the corners of small wall hangings. FYI - This is better suited to use in dry climates. |
OMG that wall hanging is awesome!!!! No help with hanging.

I LOVE that quilt!! Wooeee!

I personally use discarded machine needles. They're strong, fine point, and pretty much invisible from a viewing distance. And they're free.

I have an octagon wallhanging. It was actually a Christmas tree skirt that I completed the circle on. I made a sleeve for a slat with hangers on each end. THose two hangers get a nail. The corners have velcro hand sewed on them. I put a small piece of Command Strip velcro on the wall. I just 'tack'those corners down on the velcro. If you are interested in pictures I can take some for you tomorrow. I am out of town but home tomorrow fairly early. Reply to this thread or PM me and I will post them here. Love your wall hanging!
