I just used up a layer cake for Quatre Foil from Jenny Doan's tutorial. I love how it turned out and I only needed to add one solid to make that pattern pop.

I recently saw someone post a great quilt here on the board that used the layer cake squares as the focal blocks in a Shadow Box pattern. It was awesome! The squares really stood out with just the shadow and highlight sashing around them.

You might want to check out "Walk in the City", a pattern I found at Hancock's of Padacach website.

I like Double Slice Layer Cake from Missouri Star. It is quick and shows off fabric really well. Let me see if I can find a picture of one I made.
