Ideas for Quilt Labels - Pics please

What is the best method to make quilt labels? What information is important to put on a label?

I don't have an embroidery machine so the labels won't be fancy.

Would love to see pics with ideas for labels.

Thanks!

I am new to the hobby of quilting so these are probably not ideal, but I use the printer fabric to make labels. I now know I should have put the date on this one. So far the label looks good after a few washings but who knows what the future holds.

RainyBC - I love your label! Its adorable I would post a picture of labels that I had made, but for some reason I can't post pictures.... a lady here on the board made some for me and she did a wonderful job

I like to put a picture of the recipient on the label if I can. I also do a QR code that leads to our blog and our blog address in the event the quilt is ever lost or found. Plus the recipient's name, date, my name and city, and the reason for the gift, if there is one. (My last name is rubbed out as I used this pic on our blog when I posted about it - don't like that personal stuff on there for the world to see! I also put the washing instructions. This one was a wedding gift, and they had to move to England as he is in the service.

Cindi, your label is really lovely and the information will be valued by the recipient. Thanks. Stillclock, your label is lovely too. While it looks like a lot of work, It will last as long as the quilt itself.

basic information I put on each label- name of quilt, (designer if I used a commercial pattern), fiber content (such as 100% cotton top/backing; 80/20 hobbs heirloom batting) my name, city, state, date, and care instructions. then I generally personalize it too- if it is a gift or for a special occasion. if it's a donation I may include information about the organization- or reason for the donation. if i'm making it to sell and have no idea where it will go the label has the basic information.
