Ideas for Wonder Clips?
 

As I sit here working on the binding of a recently completed UFO, I am appreciating these little WONDER CLIPS made by Clover. I have used the clips that look like hair clips and pins before when binding, but these little things actually do hold in place and don't slide around or prick me. I am wondering how many different ways quilters are finding to use them. I know that besides being a great tool for holding binding in place, they can be utilized to help hold fabric in place when you are embroidering. They clip on the hoop when you want to "float" you piece instead of hooping it. One of our quilters is also a Civil War reenactor and makes leather items for the uniforms. He uses the clips to hold the leather pieces in place for stitching. What other uses for these little wonders have you discovered?

I keep seeing those advertised and wondered if they were any good I have all sorts of dodads i use but none work out perfect

i just looked at them online and they are a bit pricey. there is another thread also about these clips. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t177959-3.html. someone else on another thread mentioned mini clips from harbor freight. i think i may try those for the price. i also use the black metal binder clips from the office suply stores. there are so many things to try, where does one start?:)

I bought some at the Phoenix Quilting, Sewing and Craft Expo last month. They DO work. I love them :)

I was skeptical and always try to find a "cheaper" way to go, but have to say..do yourself a favor and ditch harbor frieght, Sears, the auto store, etc...BUY these clover clips...they are made for what we want to use them for...and they DO work, very well! They are easy on the older hands than anything else I have seen or used! Pricey, yes, but really worth it as all GOOD tools are!

I just used them to stretch some fabric on a board to paint...no BITE marks in my fabric edges, no pulling, it laid nice and flat...

I also used them to hold some ends of a braided rug I had to repair!

Wonder clips sound good , and I'm sure they do the job, but I think I have reached the point of no return when it comes to gadgets for sewing. LOL Too many speciality gadgets! I have drawers full of things I have bought thinking it would make my sewing life easyer, use them once or twice and go back to the old way of doing things. Same for all these rullers I have hanging around and only used once for that special quilt. In the long run I think I have wasted a lot of money I could have used for fabric! LOL

I was given some wonderclips and they work fine. Before the gift I found some smaller plastic spring clips like clothes pins at Joanns for 1.49 on sale and they are wonderful too. I use them a lot for when I glue things and don't want to stand around holding them together. They are handy as second hands a lot. I think any kind of clip is handy to have around.

I still like my cutsie hair clips from Wal-Mart to hold binding in place, but the Wonder Clips are perfect for small projects, and they are strong, too.

I love love love Clovers Wonder Clips. The advantage of using these for binding, instead of hair clips is that the fabric and binding remain flat and straight. I love them and have turned my friends on to them too. They are useful for gluing things and most especially for adding bulky things like handles to handbags... etc. I love love love them !!!
