...don't say "oh, I'll find it in a minute" and continue stitching or you may end up with an unwelcome surprise...

Thankfully I was able to remove the glove from the back of my quilt without damaging either the quilt or the glove - so LUCKY!

I had my gloves on while stitching and caught the tip of the finger in my sewing. Not my finger but the finger of the glove, thank goodness!

Maybe the recipient needs a glove to keep the hand that is outside the quilt for the remote control can stay warm too. :D

Love the sense of humour (or practicality?)

:D:D:Dthat's a good one for sure! It also isn't good to keep stitching when the machine sounds different. I stitch a pattern sheet to the back of a quilt once. I sacrificed the pattern sheet because I wasn't about to remove the stippling.

Interesting about paying attention when the machine sounds different. For this project I am using the clear nylon thread in both top and bottom to stitch around the big red pansies in each block. What a pain! but the effect is great - it makes the flowers pop. I've noticed, however, that sometimes the bobbin thread doesn't "catch" the top thread to make the stitch, but picks up again in a stitch or two. I can hear when this happens so I go back a couple of stitches to lock it in and then continue. Weird. I've also broken five needles in two days when stitching too fast. I have to go super slow and it's tedious. Glad there are only twelve blocks of flowers.

Thanks quiltaddict for the laugh. I needed that.

That's a good one! I FMQ'ed the cutting mat to my quilt once. I'm not sure why I didn't stop when it sounded like wonk-wonk-wonk. Thankfully it was only 5 or 6 inches.
