I was just wondering if anyone has purchased and made anything from Ikea fabric? It's all Home Dec. type fabric, but quilters are a resourceful bunch ;-) Some of the clearance fabric isn't too spendy and the bold prints are cool.

I seen them advertise quilters cotton online, but it was only available in the stores. Do they not always keep this in stock?

I've never seen quilters cotton at my store. Or anything labeled that. I'll have to look more closely.

The Leah who does the 365 days of FMQ designs uses IKEA white sheets for her white fabric in her quilts. We don't have a store so I don't know anything about them except for the ads in mags.

I think they have some cotton solids that would qualify as quilters cotton...the price is around $6 a yard.
I have made some aprons out of their print fabrics. Kinda loud prints, but they looked nice.

I bought a huge piece of fabric on eBay because I could not resist the graphic nature of it. It turned out to be an Ikea panel, and it will be a quilt sometime in the near future. It's got a lovely hand, maybe a bit thicker than typical quilters cotton. I also love Ikea sheets- nice graphics and feel, and very nice prices.

I didnt know that they had fabric. I buy upholstry fabric by the bags here for $1-2 a bag. They make awesome crazy quilts! I say if you like it, buy it!

I've recently bought some sheets from Ikea. Twin size and good quality for like $4 each. Awesome. I've never used sheets before but have a special project in mind for them.

They have a small section of fabric on the bolt. Much of it is large graphics, very modern and thick-think pillows or curtain fabric. They do have some thinner types. They don't have a manned area. You have to wrangle an employee to cut it for you. Since I decorate very modern the prints and designs are right up my alley. I'll be going on Weds. and will take a closer look. I'm assuming most of the home dec. stuff is dry cleaner only and most isn't very suitable for quilts. But, I'll have to check the care instructions for it.
