What a wonderful experience you all had to be together.

Yes, it was a wonderful experience. My Mom may not look 91, but over the last year, she has developed some very significant health problems and really should not be living on her own or driving any more. I have really noticed how her memory has deteriorated too, which could cause some significant problems with taking medications.

Both my sisters are 24/7 caregivers to their spouses. Two of my nieces took time from their jobs, to take over caregiver duties so that they could attend the retreat. For my sisters, the retreat is a little island of personal peace and sanity, in a world where they really cannot call any time their own.

How fun. Your quilt is turning into a real beauty!!! Last fall my sisters, mom and I got together for a family sew in. Was planning on this being an annual event, but we all loved this so much that we are going to do it again end of this month and have it a bi annual get together!!! I just can't decide what to take!

Enjoy your mother every minute that you can. Mothers tend to the matters of the heart and it is such a loss when they are gone. Looks like you had a great time. I love your quilt. Very nice. sounds as though your sisters have heavy loads to carry. 24/7 is a lot.

What a beautiful family. Your Mother is not really 91, maybe 70 and you and your sisters are cut from the same cloth. Treasure these times.

What a wonderful thing to spend time with mother and sisters

Ginger, I had to laugh at something you said in your post. My best friend's husbands mother is 94. We were talking about her a few weeks ago and he said..."well mom is 94 and we (his sisters) were finally able to talk her into giving up her driver's license". His mom is in great health, outlived 2 husbands, and has a permanent home in Florida and a 2nd home in North Carolina. Friend and hubby were just in FL for 8 weeks and my friend said...his mom is just as spiteful as she has always been. Example: my friend got up early and made a pot of coffee. His mom comes out and says...your coffee is too strong so I'll just make a cup of instant. lol
