I'm a believer now!
Saw the layer cake pattern on Missouri Quilting. Got out my layer cake and got it cut and decided to try chain stitching. I have always thought - yeah like that will be faster - well I'm a believer now got the 36 blocks all cut pieced in just a couple of hours.

well, good for you. Long ago I went on a bend of making nine patches by chain stitching. My recent four patches were chain stitched to but they seemed to take forever.

I love chain stitching and it saves on thread too!

If you're doing a lot of pieces at once, clip a clothes pin or something similar to the first one and as you do the rest, the weight of it will fall to the floor so you don't get a 'spaghetti' pile at the back of your machine :)
(Wouldn't advise this if you have a playful cat or dog.........................) |
Great idea!
