I started my BOM tonight. I followed directions. I will type word for word the directions I am having problems with.
From Fabric 1: Patch B: 12 squares 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 From Fabric 2: Patch A: 16 squares 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 for flying geese From Fabric 3: Patch C: 8 rectangles 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 for flying geese. Ok....made those. Turned out well. Next..... Step 3: Cut 4 Fabric 1 B squares in half diagonally. Sew one of these triangles to each side of a Flying Geese unit as shown in Diagram 4. Make 4 pieced units like this. Ok....here is a picture of my problem. A picture of my flying geese with the triangle next to it and if you look to the left you can see the Diagram 4 with shows you how it goes. My triangles are bigger than the flying geese and don't match up. Is this supposed to be this way? Should I cut the triangle down? Should I just go ahead and shoot myself and get it over with???? |
i'm too tired to think tonight---sorry!
I think you are placing your triangle wrong. The 90 degree corner looks to me like it should be on the bottom near the geese. Although it still looks like it will be too big when you turn it. I assume your finished geese are the correct size?
Look at your diagram again. You don't have it positioned correctly.
To me it looks like your side pc is going the wrong direction. Also you will have a little over ( dog ears)
It appears to me that it is not sewn on correctly. If you take it off and sew it the way it's shown in the picture it may be okay.
Yup, rotate the dark triangle. Sew and you'll have a dog ear left over, but when you sew it to the next piece in line it should be fine.
I agree with that the triagle is sewn wrong.
duh I'm tired. It's not sewn on. It's still too big every direction I turn it.
It's not too big. Triangle will have dog ears. Just sew it per the directions.
