How do you know how much fabric or how many different colors you will need?
Thanks |
Here's a couple of sites that assist in calculating fabric.
http://www.quiltshops.com/calculator/calculator.htm http://www.blockcentral.com/calc-squares.shtml Hope they help! :D |
I only did one BOM and shopped in my stash.
|
The one I started, I picked 2 yards of 2 matching fabrics, and then I added to them out of my stash. This way I had some symmetry and the other fabric added interest to the blocks. My main fabrics had a lot of color choices to them, so it made it easy to add others.

1. I took from a couple 2 yard pieces of matching fabrics in my stash and added some complementary fabrics to the selection. 2. I have chosen one fabric (a neutral white on beige) to be my background in every month's block and then pulling from my scraps for each month. The unifying color being the background. |
