Out of business? How sad  .
Last fall a shop was just moving across town and had fabric for 50% to 85% off. (They brought in their clearance fabric from the other three stores in the chain so they didn't run out too soon!)
Now we just have to get busy and sew what we have shoopped up!

OH MAN I HATE to see a LQS close. It's a sad sad day when one closes. It seems they have a hard time competing with H.L., Joanns & Fabric Warehouse.

Both our local shops closed. Now we will have to go across the bridge to the shops there or go to Lancaster. The price of gas though will we save going that far?

we are losing another local quilt fabric shop here in town. it breaks my heart every time this happens.

however, it does allow me the opportunity to acquire more fabric. i feel like a ghoul picking the carcass but the deals are so good i can't pass them up.

the fabric was all $2.50/yard. we are talking the top brands we all know and love. current styles and colors.

my friends and i went on friday and i bought $100 worth of fabric. then we went back on monday and i bought another $100 worth of fabric plus some odds and ends. they still had some left in the store and i am thinking about going back again this friday (the last day) to see if there is anything else i can't live without.

maybe my brain will just explode before then and i will get by with what i already have.

This was exactly how I got my first big stash of quilting fabrics...

Our local needlework (not sewing) store is closing, after 30 years! Yesterday I bought a garganuan sack of yarn and knitting needles. I also felt like a vulture, picking the carcass, but I knew the owner needed to get rid of it.
