Infinity bargello quilt

This pattern is 50x57.5
I need to enlarge for Queen size bed. Pls help me determine width of each row. If doubled it would be too big. Tx

First - welcome to the Quilting Board.
Second -Do you have a link to the pattern? Or a picture of the bargello you are interested in making?

I think you need to add the repeating pattern to the left and right working your way outward to get to your desired size. I'm a newbie and I want to tackle this next. Someone pointed me to this free link library and search for the book braided bardello. https://openlibrary.org/

That book has charts (similar to an excel document). That you can follow to get an idea of what widths achieve the "rise" and "fall". Each column ranges between 1/4" to 3 1/2" at 1/4" increments. Meaning to achieve a slow fall or rise is the widest at 3 1/2" column and the quick fallor rise would use the smallest widths 1/4" in succession.

Welcome to the boards.

With the name I was able to find a picture via "Eileen Wright Infinity" as the search term.

What I usually do enlarging patterns is count the number of rows/squares -- this is quite a bit more complex as the rows vary in width... But I would start there by counting the number of rows. If you added just 1/4" to each piece (both vertical and horizontal) with all those seams it would change the design a bit but still give the overall effect and most of the size you want.

I think the easier idea to make it larger would be to add a border using the outer curves of her design where it forms the V, I think 3 of those units per side would work -- you would also need to figure out how much background it would take so those would fit nicely. I'd probably just use corner squares of the background and not try and make the design meet.

Thank you sooooo much! Your explanation was so easy to understand! This is for a customer and I'm not crazy about pattern, but will do my best to find sage and purples at store today! Do you know how to download pics to this site?
