Info on History of Quilting

Want to do a program for 20 ladies on history of quilting and then show some of my own. Should only be about 20 minutes. Any suggestions where to find some info, don't want to spend hours looking for info. Thanks

All kinds of information. I just Googled History of Quilting. Lots of info.

In college, I wrote a paper on the history of quilting for a women's history course. The library is a good source. One of the books I used was "The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America" by Carrie A. Hall and Rose G. Kretsinger. Lots of good info there.

The first thing is to decide if your topic is quilting (hundreds of years history in many other countries on bedding, quilted garments, coats etc.) or patchwork combined with quilting in the American tradition.

I agree with Tartan. Find part of the History of Quilting you want to focus on then either Google or get yourself down to the local library. Have fun.
