ingenious orange peel quilting technique by LYNDAOH

Wow! I'm so excited. I read this post back in November and tucked it away in my mind for when I had the nerve to quilt outside the lines a bit. That day came yesterday. I have a quilt with a 14 square x 14 square center medallion of 2" squares and decided that orange peel would be the perfect quilting motif on my DSM. I drew lines 1/4" down each side of the seam and marked the 1" point in each square as my guidelines. Then I was able to just meander down one way and up the other to make (almost) perfect orange peel sections using my walking foot.

Thank you Thank you Thank you LYNDAOH!!! I've only done three rows so far and only in 1 direction, but I can't wait to sit back down at my machine and keep going with it.
