A while back I saw a book for an Insanity Quilt and now I can't find anything about the quilt at all. Has anyone else seen the quilt or the book? Or maybe I've already gone insane lol

Are you thinking of this one? http://www.flickr.com/photos/annebru...7603991159433/ It was designed by Rhonda Pearce of NSW Australia and appeared in Australian Patchwork and Quilting. It also won 1st place in the NSW quilters guild show in 2007. This is her website http://www.postofficepatchwork.com.au/

Thanks Loretta, but that isn't it. It's similar to the Dear Jane quilt. It's small blocks 5-6", and there are about 200 or so different blocks.

holy moly,i think that would make me insane to make that

NorBanaquilts 12-14-2009 06:56 AM

NorBanaquilts 12-14-2009 07:19 AM

Those aren't really my colors, I was thinking blue and white.

You'll be waiting for a while, first I would need to start collecting the fabric and I wouldn't start this one until my Dear Jane is finished.

NorBanaquilts 12-14-2009 07:32 AM

Thanks K, I put it on my Christmas list for DH

kwhite 12-14-2009 07:33 AM

Actually I love this quilt and have begun paper piecing it in slightly larger hexagons, good work for the motorhome. Not sure how far I'll get. The hexagon from the Australian patchwork magazine.

Happy Holidays!

Loretta, I'm afraid if I tried to do both at the same time I would truly be insane before either of them were finished. lol

I recently went to a local quilt show where a "nearly insane" quilt was shown. It was wonderful. Trying to get a picture was almost impossible because there were always people surrounding it. It was done in the colors shown in the book, and though they were not colors I would like, the quilt was stunning. I hope some day to do one also.

Wow, that's beautiful! I'd never heard of it before. There's a short gallery of quilts others made from the pattern in different colors on the site. All gorgeous! I hope Santa brings you the book. :D I'm going to check with my library; I'd really like to read it.

Darn, none of my libraries have it. Guess I'll have to put it on my Christmas list, too. I love the idea of making an "insanity" quilt. There are those in my family who would think it very apt.
