Inspira quilt frame
 

Does anyone have one and could you give me your opinion on it. I have a Juki machine that I bought for Just free motion quilting and would use it on the frame. Not sure if the frame is made for a certain kind of machine, how heavy it is, how easy to set up, how much space I would need, Etc.

Don't know much about the Inspira frame but I do know that the Juki machine is a bit heavy so check with the specs on the frame to see what weight it can take.

I had an 18" tin lizzie on my Inspira frame, so the carriage can hold the weight. Frame is pretty sturdy, but the rails were aluminum and a bit flexible. Not sure why, but in the last 6 months there have been several threads about this frame. use the search function for more info.

I have a Pfaff Hobby 1200 machine on my Inspira frame. I have had that combo for about 6 years and it was a used set up that I bought. I don't know if there are newer/different/better models of this frame but it holds my heavy machine just fine. The machine rolls easily on the carriage but you do have to make sure the frame is level. It does have leveling feet. It is aluminum but I have not had a problem with that. Maybe with an even bigger/heavier machine it would be problematic but if you have the Juki which has the 9" or thereabouts harp, it should be similar to my machine. I think those Jukis are comparable to the Pfaff 1200 for size, weight, etc. My frame can be set up at 10' or 5' ; newer models may have more options so it does take up a lot of floor space (although I do store plastic containers under it). I think the most negative comment on this frame and set up is that there isn't a lot of space for actual quilting. It comes out to around 8" depth due to the rails and "poles" for holding the top, batting, and backing. Most quilters probably want bigger within a few years (or less) so they can quilt a bigger space before rolling the quilt. Do I want bigger .... sure but I got this set up locally and quite cheaply and the machine alone was worth the price so that is what I have until I win the lottery! Pluse I have a local Pfaff dealer to turn to for repairs and such.

I have contemplated using the machine in a table instead of on the frame but I hate, hate, hate basting the quilt sandwich so thought I could even use that set just for basting then put the machine in the table to quilt. Have not tried that yet though.
