A few pictures of my working on my Machine Lift being installed.
Still not finished..... I need to have a custom made plexi glass made for the top of the table. I would like to have it cover the entire table, so I can turn it around and it will cover the hole when I push the machine down for storage or use for a table when cutting fabric.

measure and remeasure

added brace under the table where the machine goes and also from the back of the desk and also braced from the floor

My son cut the hole for the machine from one of my computer desk

Almost done This plexi glass is from my other machine, I want this new one to cover the top of the desk. I also need to paint the edges and braces.

I'm saving up for the lift, they are so expensive

You will really appreciate being to tuck the machine away when you need space. The cabinet I bought for my H/V came with one. It is so awesome! Sure beats taking it off, and lifting it back up.

My brother is a cabinet maker. For years I wanted him to build me a sewing desk. I finally got it last year.....with the machine lift. They are awesome!

wish I had went ahead & had one installed. Great job! maybe make it wide enough to use as a light table too when you put plexi glass in

Lucky you! What a sweet DB :D:D:D

We got this one from Rockler.com for 159.00. Plus tax. Then there was the cost of the screws, brace board. 20.00
I already had the table. So, your looking at 200.00 for something you've always wanted.
I can't wait to clean up the room so I can use it. I've been pinning and spraying, (taking over my kitchen counter)getting quilts ready to quilt this past week. I have 3 ready, 2 more to go.

Thanx so much for showing the *in progress* installation .. that is such a great help for DIY-ers like me. This just went to the top of my wish list ... thanx again & I know you're going to enjoy yours so much.

You could also try what the newer sewing cabinet makers are doing. They now put a small trim piece about 1/4 below the table height and the plastic insert rests on this flat with the bed of the table. So ... the cabinet closes neatly with the table in place.
