It works best if you put the line of the ruler on the fabric edge and the point of the ruler on the top seam.

I put the ruler on the seam and then cut up to the top edge of material... only had to undo 2 stitches... that worked for me.

I thought I was studying James, or was is it the Psalms ... let's see... I know it was a Sunday, and it was hmmm ... only thirty years ago (or more!) LOL ... goodness! am I REALLY getting THAT OLD????? LOL

I bought my DH a tshirt that says you know you are getting old when happy hour is nap time. I feel like that a lot and I am 29 lol. Nothing wrong with being older though!! :) Just mean you know how to enjoy life more than u "thought" you did when you were young.

How come they say your sew piece should be 4.25" instead of 4.5"?

Math is not always my friend!

:?:

Jenny, the one who did the video, said it would be 4-1/4" but this is not correct. I just went by what she said without thinking about it when I typed the instructions up. You are right - the new piece comes out to 4-1/2".

Thanks for the well written directions. I just tried it and it works perfectly if you forget about that 4 1/4" cut that was a mistake on the video. You could be a pattern writer!
