I want to make insulated curtains. These are for very sunny windows and a cold room in the winter. I would like to use something on the back that will insulate and not fade. Can any of you give me some suggestions? Thanks.

There are insulated linings available at Joanne's - pricey but effective- I have used successfully in Roman Shades holding up well against Florida's summers. I have also used the woven mylar/poly coat lining fabric, which allows more light and heat/cold through.

My DH works shift work and we have sliding glass doors in our bedroom that get the direct afternoon sun. I bough blackout lining and can't believe how much light and heat they keep out. I just bought it in the home dec dept of our local fabric store, It was expensive, but money well spent.
