There has been lots of chatter about joining pieces of batting. I am wondering if you can join pieces of insulbrite in the same manner? Does it need to be a solid piece to get the full insulating quality?

It should patch just as easy. I don't like cutting or feeling insulbrite, it has a terrible feel to me so I don't save any small pieces of it.

Thanks. :) I have been cutting out pieces for hot mats, and coffee mug sleeves, so I have several pieces that are not quite big enough on their own, but would be big enough to join together. Anything too small went in the garbage.

I don't like the feel of it either. When I use insulbrite, I actually put on my winter gloves to prevent me from touching it and then when I sew on it, I put ear plugs in. I am glad that I am not the only one that doesn't like the feeling of it. ;)

Good to know it can be patched if needed.

Never thought of that, good to know! I love stretching my dollar where I can.

BTW, I bought InsulBrite for 2.99 a yard (then 40% off) at Hobby Lobby.

Just a few weeks ago, I paid 7.99 a yard at JoAnn's.
