Interactive playmat
I want to make an interactive playmat for my granddaughter. I have looked on pinterest, the internet, etc. for patterns but can't find any. I want it to have flaps or pages that the child can lift up and see a picture, textured fabric, etc. underneath. Also any other features i can sew on to give the child something to do with the mat and their hands. Anyone know of a pattern? I may need to wing it but I'd prefer to have a pattern.

have you looked at figit quilts? https://www.pinterest.com/pin/440930619749685636/ They are made for Alzheimer patients so be careful of safety issues like beads etc But there are ideas here.

Add things like a bird with a squeaker, go to the dollar store and get a dog toy with a squeaker in it. Put it inside the bird or whatever use pieces of a potato chip bag for crinkle. I bought a mirror that you could cut with scissors off amazon to add that to the one I made.

i've heard of putting a used chip bag in the ctr for a crinkly effect too.

A baby wipes package works for the crinkly effect too. I made several small taggies for my GD with them.
