Oh my word. What a wonderful hubby you have and a great quilting machine to boot. Good work using it too. These days we all must pinch our pennies.
|
the machine looks so pretty!

Like Leah Day's yoga teacher said recently, and I paraphrase..."Is it perfect? No. Does it make you happy? Yes!" Then it's "spritiually" perfect.
Your new quilter is fantastic and will do just what you need! One thing, make sure the wheels are turning smoothly. I saw a squarishness to one of your curves that I recognize as sticky wheels. Your purple machine is soooo cute! Can't wait to see some of the quilts you finish with it! |
I remember your other post, where you were having some sort of problem...tension, maybe. It sounds like that is no longer a problem. Yippee!!! Your set up is just great, and your lavender machine is so cute! You are already quilting wonderfully on it too. Enjoy!!

I think you have a great set up. Just keep practing, that is what it takes! I think you might do better to create your own free hand style than with pantos. I only say that because I don't think there are a lot of panto's in that throat size, I am guessing you couldn't go over probably a 5" one. I do a lot of mine that way using swirls, paisleys, loop d loop, stars, etc. Check out Leah Days (sp?) website and you can get a lot of ideas. I have also started doing a lot of straight line quilting which I didn't think I would like but am really loving.
Keep the hubby! I LOVE that lavender machine she is really good looking. I have a friend who would probably steal it from you if she lived close by - her featherweight is painted purple. |
This just shows that where there's a will there's a way. My first solution to quilting big quilts was to quilt in sections on my DSM. Your DH is such a keeper - not only to work so hard to perfect your quilting setup, but to make it beautiful too.
