Several years ago, I swear I saw a 9-patch square set on point and, with some embroidery for a face and proper use of color in the block, it came out looking like a teddy bear. Sounds simple but for the life of me, I can't find the source nor can I figure out how to set up a block to look like this. With so many creative people out there, maybe one of you has seen this or has an idea for accomplishing it.
Thank you so much. |
Did you see a picture online or in magazine? On a quilt board or blog or shop site? Any detail will help to find the block pattern.

I did a 9 patch in the shape of the gingerbread boy for a pot holder. It is done on point. I did the brown blocks to form a solid X shape. The "head" is one of the corner blocks that would be white but instead it is brown also with 3 corners of white sewn on like a snowball block. The arms and legs get white rick rack for the icing and the tummy gets 3 small dark buttons for the raisins. The head gets 2 small black buttons for the eyes and the mouth is embroidered on.
