Went to International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati yesterday & had a blast. Of course it was crowded, but saw some fantastic quilts, saw Pokey Bolton (she is tiny) & a few other people I know in the quilt world (local people, no celebrities other than Pokey. The show inspired me to enter some of my own works into bigger shows. Most of what was on display was very similar to the type of quilts I make. The show had more art quilts than traditional ones. There was also a fantastic display of Susan Shie's works. I actually came home with $$ left in my pocket. The crowds were so dense that it was difficult to get into the vendor booths to look at anything. The trip was definitely worth going & it was much closer than Paducah, which is 5 1/2 hours -one way- from me. This show was all in one place, where the Paducah show was spread out all over t own. Would I go again- definitely.

*&%* I missed it because I'm sick this week. But one of my DDs lives in Cincy and I was going to stay with her.
I'm glad you had a good time even though it was crowded. Do you have pics? |
What type of quilt won best of show? Last year was an art quilt of wonderful frogs....

All of the quilts displayed are on the website "Quilts.org". The winner was one from Chile, it was all applique, very small applique. Check out the site for the photos.
