Iron-on Stabilizer: Ever Leave it in???

I use Totally Stable for my art quilts. I usually peel it away before I make the sandwich, but this design is so complex I am thinking of leaving it in, besides it's my least favorite task. I don't care about the quilt's stiffness as it will hang on the wall, but I've put so much into this so far I'm afraid I'll ruin everything.

I have thought about it and thought about it, and I don't see a downside other than maybe it would be hard to machine-quilt through, but it couldn't be any worse than fusible...which is what this is, I guess. Anybody have experience with this?

Thanks.

I just finished a wall hanging of a fox that I left the stabilizer in. I was also afraid the smaller bits wouldn't hold their shape. It turned out really nice and my grandson gave it to his teacher at the end of school. I was quite pleased.

I would leave it in. If your normal sewing machine can stitch through it to create the piece, there should be no problems with quilting it.
