Iron suggestions...
My precious Grandmother wants to get me a good iron for my birthday.. :) I would like it to get HOT!! I don't really put water in it, I prefer to use a spray bottle. What are your suggestions?

Try using the search function. We discuss irons pretty regularly. I like my Black and Decker Digital Advantage.

I've stuck with my Black & Decker classic. Does what I need and I don't freak out if I drop it or it quits since I can replace it at wally world for $20. Now if I had money to blow I might be tempted to get an Oliso!

Oliso. Gets hot. STAYS hot.

I bought the Rowenta SteamForce iron. It was the top rated iron in consumer reports and it does get really hot. But it weighs a ton and I'm probably going to return it for an Oliso. If you don't care how heavy an iron is, you might want to try it.

I have a rowenta and an oliso, the rowenta gets hotter and also gets hot faster. Both leak though

Another vote for Oliso. I have the blue one and really like it; it gets plenty hot and very quickly; even though it shuts off after about 8 minutes, it heats back up in seconds.
The blue one is the least expensive, is on sale periodically at JoAnns. |
IrishNY I don't find my oliso any lighter than my rowenta. The Oliso is a pretty hefty iron

I was wondering what the difference was between the two colors of the Oliso irons (besides the price) and it's 200 watts. The yellow is 1800 watts and the blue is 1600 watts.

I got a Rowenta Master 1750 last year at Costco and it gets HOT and steam is excellent. Haven't ever had a problem with spitting.
