Ironing Table or Ironing Board?

I bought a new table, so now I have two. I've used one of those ironing mats, about 2 x 3 in size. When I bought the new table there was a picture on the front showing an entire table covered with fabric & padding. It looked interesting but I'm not sure about covering the entire table.

What do you use for ironing?

I bought a big square board that fits over my ironing board so that you are able to iron larger areas and even

I have a large ironing board, but if I am ironing large pieces of fabric I use the ironing area I made. We used a piece of plywood that was 4 ft by 2 ft. with 2 layers of batting on it, then we put a piece of cotton on top of that. It fits snuggly over my ironing board. The large area makes it so much easier to iron.

My husband purchased a rectangle of plywood and we covered it with batting and then fabric and set it on my ironing board, so I have a large space to iron, kind of like what everyone is doing now.

I have two, a large ironing board and a little board my husband made for me. It has a lip on one end that fits over my desk, and a leg at the other end. It's perfect for pressing little pieces right next to my machine.

I bought an old teacher's desk from St. Marys for $10 and my DH cut me a piece of particle board measuring 45" x 30" which I covered with cotton batting and then upholstry fabric. It's great for ironing pieces or yardage.

I keep my regular ironing board set up all the time. I still iron my dh's western shirts and his wrangler jeans. I also use the board for pressing blocks, applique, and etc. I have been wanting to make a larger board for pressing yardage, but do not want to use plywood since it is so heavy. I do not have any place to leave it set it up all the time.

I bought one of those craft table from Joanns that folds down on each side. I used it as a cutting table. Then my local dealer was upgrading his cutting tables and had one for sale and I snatched it up. I covered the craft table and turned it into an ironing table. One of the best things I ever did! That's it under the TV.
