Irons. Reliable Digital Velocity or Braun?

Does anyone have any experience with these brands/models? I am in search of a new iron. I have read many of your reviews in previous threads. It is so confusing. So many different opinions!!
I need one that has an automatic shut off override... meaning to delay the automatic shut off. And obviously one that doesn't leak..
Thanks.

I haven't seen an iron without the automatic shut off in years.....I too would like to know if one exists. I understood that it was a safety feature that must be built into the new irons???

I have a Reliable Digital Velocity and LOVE it. No leaking but I always wait for it to heat to set temperate before using which I was told by LQS this keeps it from not spitting.

I haven't seen a new one that doesn't have auto shutoff, but they do vary in the times. I read the instructions before buying last time and was glad that I did. I found one with 15 minute shutoff...most were 8 minutes. I bought a Shark. As for leaks...I don't think one exists that doesn't develop a leak at some point. Even the expensive ones do from what I've read. I seem to be replacing mine annually or so...I limit to about $30-35 because of that.

I have not found one yet, that won't eventually leak. I think a lot depends on the hardness of the water in your area, some irons tell you not to use distilled water, and how often you use it. Do you use it every day, is it on for hours at a time etc. I bought an expensive iron last Christmas, it is leaking like a sieve right now. Im going to get a cheapy from Walmart next!!

when I need a new iron I go "good will hunting"

I have the Oliso and the auto shut off is 30 minutes.

Sorry, I LOVE my Rowenta that I got at Costco. I make sure that I have my ironing stack up so I can efficiently use my iron. It heats up so quickly!! I NEVER leave it on because it really does use MORE energy than most appliances including TVs!!

No experience at all with Braun, but I do have a Reliable Digital Velocity and love it! The Rowentas scare me, there have been so many stories in the last couple of years about smoking, arcing, fires, and burns.... it's just not worth the risk IMO.

I also have a Reliable Digital Velocity and love it. It does have an auto shut off but there is an option (you press down on one of he buttons) that turns the auto shutoff OFF.
