i purchased the Ironslide 2000 about 2 weeks ago with a joann's coupon.

i have to say i just love this product - i really didn't expect much but it actually works.

just one brief touch with the iron and the fabric is pressed.

i love it for block assembly because you can press the seam so quickly that the block doesn't get distorted.

Oh, thanks, KLue. I saw that before and was wondering if it was just a gimmicky kind of thing. I'll be going to Joann's soon, so I'll probably get one.

Does this take the place of the regular cover? Mine is very old and worn out, and I've bought two replacements, but they were both too small, so I figured I'd have to make one. This would be great if it actually replaces the cover.

it replaces the cover you currently have on the ironing board.

it has an adhesive backing and very minimal padding.

they say its easy to remove and replace when you need to and a few people have left comments on the website saying it was easy to replace - i'll have to wait a few years to see if thats true.

KLue, thanks for the review. I need a new cover some how mine got several rust stains on it and my two year old pulled on the tie until it snapped so it doesn't stay on real tight! But I went to walmart and its cheaper to buy a whole ironing board than it is to just buy the cover, I keep meaning to check at Joann's but always forget! Hopefully I will remember this next time I am there! LOL wish me luck I'll need it!

i can vouch for the product, too.

i don't know how easy it is to remove because i didn't use the adhesive back to stick it to my ironing board. i just used masking tape at each end.

because i'm lazy. :lol:

i've been using it for ages, so it looks like heck. i just use a spray cleaner on it once in a while and keep goin'.

i cut off some of the extra length and did use the ahesive back to stick it to a new flatrate mailing box. makes a nifty portable pressing board. :P

all joking aside, i love people who can achieve spectacular quilting results while being frugal.

I bought one of these in Paducah two years ago. I made a big mess putting it on my ironing board. Once a wrinkle gets in, it's in. Next time I'll tape it and not remove the paper backing! If you have one of the ironing mats with a cutting mat on the opposite side the excess will make an excellent new top for it.

Cool...I'll have to check that out! I'm in need of a new cover...I cut mine :oops: yes, I do press then trim when PP'ing on my ironing board...and I "overcut" just a weeee littttle bit :oops:

Is it me, or do the new irons just not get as hot as they use to??? I'm on my 3rd in about 4 years. My rowenta never got hot enough and I paid at least $100.00, now I'm using a cheapy from walmart for about $25.00. Seems to do a better job.

Is this product all i need to replace my ironing board cover or should i get some quilted padding to go under it? This info is very timely as my cover could really be replaced.

i put this on in place of my cover.

it has just enough padding that its good for quilting. you don't want a lot of padding for quilting projects because it could distort the block.

I actually need a new ironing board cover oddly enough! Sadly we don't have a Joann's near by... I'm wondering if they have it at Hancock's or Hobby Lobby... I'll have to check it out..!!

I too need a new ironing board cover! I was looking at it just last night and thinking I'd have to make a trip to WalMart soon. But now it looks like a great use for the JoAnn's coupons that just came in the mail today. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I never would have tried it on my own.
