Isocord thread for quilting?

I know this is an embroidery thread, but can you use it for quilting? I bought a crazy quilt book that is a quilt-as-you-go project. Since I would be using fancy stitches, I thought of using Isocord for the thread to make the stitches really stand out. My concern is whether this would be at all appropriate as a quilting thread. What do you think? I've never used it before (I'm still a new Bernina owner as well). Thanks.

I use it in my Gammill and also in my Bernina 630 with excellent results. I sold my embroidery machine and have a ton of Isocord, so I gave it a try, and wella, it worked!

Leah Day highly recommends using Isacord for quilting. I use it now and it's wonderful.

you can use any thread you like for quilting-as long as it is strong enough to not break constantly while trying to sew with it. people quilt with silk, cotton, poly, rayon, wool, isacord, metalics....what ever works that they like. it never hurts to try something new---the only thread i know of you can not use for machine work is hand quilting thread- which has a wax coating on it that does bad things to machines---beyond that you can use anything you want that works for you.

I have used Isacord on my longarm. I really like how it looks. It has a shine to it so it is a good thread to use if you want it to really show.

When I need a thread color I don't have in my regular sewing thread, I head for my stash of Isacord. I love it! Especially for decorative stitching. I like vareigated thread too for decorative stitching and what I can't find in my Isacord stash gets raided from my serger thread stash.

The only thread I wouldn't use for quilting is rayon because it's an inherently weak thread. But, many people use poly thread. I prefer cotton, but the sheen of the embroidery thread may be what you're after.

It's very good thread for machine quilting. It's very reasonable priced too. I always find it on sale online.
