A quilting friend of mine recently went into our lqs and making small talk, asked the owner how business has been going (our area has a super high unemployment rate). The owner stopped and looked at my friend and said "I deal with women that have an addiction". 'Nuff said.

So is that why I obsessively check the classifieds here even though I don't need anything and can't afford to buy more fabric?! :shock:

I do the same thing. Darn classifieds!!!

I'd give up my alcohol, cigarettes, and illegal drugs to buy fabric............................. :shock:

:-( One of the fabric stores I go to is closing in December. (No LQS where I live) They are closing because there are not enough addicts in that town. The young lady said she was going to be unemployed and is currently looking for a job. She also said she was lucky she had this job because her Mom owns the store.

Hey. I read that . If you don't want to watch a tv station you change the channel. Quit looking in the classifieds. ROFL. DOn't feel bad I spent more than what I made trying to "help" others with their sales. And my two 12-step members who promise to help are right ni there buying with me. Oh me.......Addiction.

Hey, because none of my baby quilts were selling, I've taken to scrubbing toilets for a few extra bucks! Yep, all for fabric and gadgets!!!

OMG that is too funny!! That guy is right though. We have an addiction!! Only difference is that it's legal hahahahahaha

Oh ya it is an addiction.I have had it for many yrs and not stopping now.I am de stashing to make room and now drooling over other peoples fabric.

DH told me tonight that according to the ten commandments I am sinning because I lust after fabric's.

I am always looking for someone who just wants to give their fabric up for a low price, not everyone loves fabric as much as others. Its hard for me to walk out of any store without at least a small piece of it! It may be an addiction but its a great one!

I think you need to be coveting your neighbor's fabric to break a commandment. Just lusting over it in general is permissible, I think. ;)

I covet my neighbor's fabric, then I buy more. I lust after fabrics, then I buy more. Guess I haven't broken any commandments ... I just resolve the issue before anyone realizes. :D :D

Conversation with my therapist last week. (True story):

Dr: What have you done for Pat recently?
me: Nothing that I can think of.
Dr: What do you enjoy doing ?
me: Sewing or Quilting.
Dr: You use needles, thread, and fabric for that ?
me: Yes ....
Dr: Go buy FABRIC !!!! Would that be considered something for yourself?
me: (with a LARGE grin) Yup!

I couldn't contain myself and burst out laughing .... I explained why .... that everyone tells me I won't need fabric until the next lifetime or sometime thereafter. He said "That's not true. My wife enjoys fabric too .... and she NEVER has enough. We're always looking for the elusive piece of cloth."

Sooooo .... Doctor's orders .... I must go shopping. My daughter wants my doctor's name and address ..... and the waitress at the restaurant today told me that fabric shopping may be covered by my health insurance!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: If only .....
