My very first best friend ever is pregnant with her second baby. She found out today that is a boy!!! Looks like my first quilt is going to be a baby quilt for a boy. They live in Texas, so I am hoping to find something cute that will fit along with a cowboy theme!!

I should clarify....not cowboys the football team, cowboys as in real cowboys!!

or maybe a police officer theme since the daddy is a cop. THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY OPTIONS!!!!

You could make it reversible, one theme included in the blocks and the other theme for the backing.

Thank you QUILTNANA!!!!!!! Thanks to quiltnana I have come up with the pattern for the baby quilt I will be making. I am going to use the warm wishes pattern she used in her cowboy baby quilt. Funny enough, I was wanting to do a cowboy theme for the baby quilt I am making because my friend lives in texas and she loves horses and the rodeo. Also, we first met as little ones when our dad's worked together on a horse farm in Kentucky.

I am posting pics of the fabric I bought today, for more than half the price of online fabric stores thanks to ebay. The cowboys will be the main blocks, and then the other blocks will be stripes of the the blue, the cowprint, and the red.

Quiltnana, I sure hope you don't mind how similar my quilt will be to yours!!!! If you do, please let me know and I will choose a different pattern. I would completely understand!!!!

FYI: just in case anyone was wondering these fabrics are by Michael Miller and are called Lil Cowpokes. They also have the main fabric with cowgirls instead of boys.


And.....I plan on doing the back in the blue bandana.

Oh, that will be precious! (I have two little guys and really enjoy making stuff for them, but the options are definitely a lot more limited than with girls!)
