I don't recall who recommended this book in a post, but she was so right! I picked up a copy, used but in great condition, from Amazon and so far I love it. The author has a great sense of humor and the blocks are beautiful. Amazon showed a number of used books available if you are interested.

You are exactly right! I have this book (also ordered used from Amazon) and love it.

I just have to brag.......i have one of the original printings as well as the preprinting three ring binder version before it was printed. Mary Ellen is a real hoot.

Betty, I mentioned what a great book it is so can I have all the credit??? LOL
It's one of the books I won't part with and I've thinned my books a lot over the years.
Holice, mine is the spiral bound also and yes, she is a hoot.
I love her dedication in the beginning of the book.
:D

I have that book and the next two that follow. Love it. Mary Ellen Hopkins sure has a different take on quilting.

I have this book also, my version 1989. I made the Double Irish Chain and was amazed how accurate the pieces came together. I also have The McCall's Book of Quilts (1989). Many quilts have been made inspired by this book. Directions and measurements very accurate also.

Most definitely! I thank you for telling us about the book. The dedication is an indication of her approach to quilting; sure you have to pay attention to the details, but you don't have to turn it into rocket science. I can't draw a horse, but I have started to love graph paper. Who knew?

I have the spiral bound Its Okay book plus the Connecting Up dated 1990 and the Even More Well Connected dated 1995. As someone else said, I've gotten rid of a lot of books over the years but never these. They are great!

I had also recommended it - it was soooo great to use for the boomerang swap exchange. I took mine to Kinkos and had it spiral bound.
