of Janome Horizon 7700 owners! :D :D :D

I've been researching for awhile and was convinced that I wanted the Pfaff Expression 2.0. Today, after checking out yard sales and some antique shops, DH and I had lunch at Olive Garden followed by a trip to Joann's. While at Joann's, I inquired about the local Pfaff dealer, only to learn that they have gone out of business. So, we went to the Janome dealer instead. I walked out of there about an hour later with the Horizon! It's set up and I've played a little, but discovered I do need the new 1/4 foot. I was certain the dealer said the 1/4 dual feed foot was included, but it wasn't. He'll be getting a phone call on Monday. Either way, I can't wait until I can play some more on this machine.

Did anyone else who has the Horizon get the 1/4 dual feed foot included? Or perhaps I misunderstood since the dealer had one out for the demo machine.

Right now I'm happy to be part of the Horizon Club! :D

I have the Horizon and the Dual Feed 1/4" foot was extra. I bought that and the open-toed one also. Love the open-toe for quilting. You should absolultely love your machine...enjoy!

I also use the bobbin genie...I keep it in all the time and for Free Motion quilting the Supreme Slider works really well. It took my a while to get use to this machine but I also have only been sewing since last sept so I had a huge learning curve. I love, love the extra space. (the arm lenght) I find Sulky thread works really well and I use Gutterman but it tends to leave a lot of lint on the needle but it still works fine. I also bought the binding tool but never did figure it out...so unless you have someone to show you...you may not want to get that. I also found so far the best needles for the machine are the ones for the kenmore sewing machines that they sell at Sears. And the Applique stitches...you are going to love them!!!

Congrats! The Horizon has so much more than the Pfaff 2.0. Join the Janome Horizon yahoo group. It's super helpful and very active, and you'll get a 15% discount at Brubakers, which sells Janome accessories.

I had to buy the duel feed 1/4" foot as well. but I only use it with binding and flannel, I tend to lean to my regular 1/4" foot for piecing. Have fun, you will love it!
