I love brothers. Can't stop buying them, they are so reliable and just love all of mine. Hope you enjoy your new baby.

Congratulations on a great find. I have an older Brother, which I picked up free at the swap table at the local incinerator - people dropped off things they no longer wanted or needed and you could take home what you wanted. Someone was coming up the stairs with this sewing machine in it's original carton, he said it still worked, but his wife no longer sewed. I have to come clean, as I originally got the machine for my daughter, however, my Janome needed some time at the dealer's, so it became my backup. When I did offer it to her, she said to keep it because I was still using it. It is nice to have it as a backup, it works great and I actually like the zig-zag stitch better than the one on my Janome. By the way, the blocks are lovely. I think your sons will have fun learning to sew on this machine.

I have this machine, I upgraded last January only because I wanted a few extra stitches. I used that machine exclusively for 16 years and now my kids use it. It's awesome. It's not thread picky, sews great and truly a workhorse. Great machine for kids. I'm actually loaning it out for this month to a visiting quilter. I have the instruction manual so if you have any issues pm me I'll look it up. I upgraded to another brother, love their machines

You expect us to "ignore" pics of blocks? (Really? Yeah, right!) Nice blocks, and congrats on the sweet deal on the machine. Enjoy her!

You did hit the jackpot. I love my Brothers.

The CS6000i is a fantastic little machine especially to cart around. It only weighs 14 pounds and works like a charm. When my Pfaff quilt expression had a problem in the middle of an applique project the Brother took over and you can't see the difference in the work. The throat size is the only drawback I have found.
