Jackson, WY and Yellowstone Quilt Stores?

I did a search on this site (and also googled it) and found a few ideas for when I'm traveling to Jackson, Grand Tetons, and in the area around Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone National Park. The info is a couple years old, so I'll have to make sure it's still open, but someone recommended Stitch 'N Time. Any others you would recommend? TIA

West Hellowstone, Montana-right outside the west entrance of Yellowstone-has a little shop called Send it Home. She has some fabric, yarn, souvenirs of Yellowstone, plus a mailing service to mail home things you can’t carry on a plane. I rode my motorcycle to work in Yellowstone for 2 summers so my space was limited & I visited the shop. I didn’t quilt then but I remember looking at her selection of fabric & yarn (I learned to knit while in Yellowstone). I’ve since found her on Etsy.

I vacationed there a few years ago and don't recall seeing any quilt shops. Granted I was only in Jackson for two days and we only got as far as Old Faithful in the park. Lots of shops in Jackson for jewelry, clothing and many art galleries, bars and restaurants.

You will have a wonderful time. The area is so gorgeous. I was in awe over the Tetons but we only had one clear day. The 2nd day was socked in by clouds. Also be prepared for cold weather. I was there in August and the morning we left it was in the 30s and never got very warm that day. I was very thankful for having full leathers and heated gear (we were on motorcycles)

Edited to add, I just did a google search on Stitch 'N Time in Wyoming and it would appear that shop went out of business in 2014 which would explain why I didn't run across any quilt shops in Jackson when I was there in 2015.

I was in Yellowstone last summer, and Send It Home (the Quilt and Yarn Store in West Yellowstone) was quite nice. We stayed at the Old Faithful Lodge. I didn't really do much quilt shopping that trip; there was too much else to see! You will love it.

I agree with Feline Fanatic about being prepared for cold. We were there at the end of July/beginning of August, and it was really chilly in the evening and morning. I wished I had brought a sweater as well as my jacket.

My other piece of advice is make sure you see geysers other than Old Faithful. Old Faithful is the most predictable, but definitely not the most impressive. There are quite a few within a 5-10 min walk of the lodge that are absolutely amazing.

Have a wonderful trip!

Try looking at the Row by Row 2018 website. They have posted all the quilt shops participating in that event by State. Perhaps your route into Yellowstone will be through some of those other cities as well. Bozeman has a couple shops listed, one in West Yellowstone, too -- http://www.send-it-home.com/ Those are the only ones I saw close to the Yellowstone border on the row x row website:

Some of the park gift shops may have the National Parks fabric panels - ask the sales clerks everywhere you stop.

One of my favorites in Yellowstone was the Morning Glory Pool. Can't remember where it is but the color is out of this world.

Morning Glory Pool is in the same area as Old Faithful. Two geysers that are spectacular are Beehive, next to Old Faithful, & Grand. Grand is also in that geyser basin & has some fabulous eruptions. You’ll be lucky if you get to see one. In the Middle Geyser Basin is Grand Prismatic Pool, the world’s largest hot spring. Also, Steamboat, the workd’s largest Geyser, is very active right now. It’s in Norris Geyser Basin.

What a wonderful vacation we had to that area about 5 years ago. It is spectacular. Didn’t do any fabric/quilt shopping as too busy otherwise. Bit of trivia- more than 15 miles of boardwalk leading to geysers. Each geyser different.
