Jacqueline De Jonge Patterns - Any one done one of these?
I have Catch Me if You Can Pattern - been collecting fabrics for a while and think I will start later this year. Any one done one of hers? Any tips for this challenge?
Thanks so much! |
I'd love to do one. Will see how you get along!

no help unless you need moral help!! That is quite a project. I always start with something smaller in a new adventure!! You are brave. :) Good luck, someone else will come along and give you some pointers I'm sure.
This is the one I've had my eye on. http://www.alderwoodquilts.com/shopp...?ID=0319306420 |
Her designs are spectacular. I've heard that the English translation is not very good, so my advice would be to be sure you understand the instructions before cutting into your fabric.

I have no practical experience either, but I've heard the same thing that dunster reported. Questions about her patterns are posted periodically. Use the search function to see more. Here's one:

I have done one of her patterns... A few things to note: some of the patterns do not have the paper piecing papers included. They have started to include them but be careful there are still some of the older ones out there with out the papers. Her directions are translated.... and some not to well. Additionally, the directions are not organized in a clear outline as to each step. Read ALL of the directions several times before you cut anything. There will be some words that just don't seem to apply but if you have paper pieced before you can get through it. Do be careful that some of the fabric requirements are not precise... one of mine listed just said "lots".
