Janome 1600P bobbin problem

I haven't sewn on this machine for quite a few months and now I have a problem.
I've rethreaded, changed the needle, took the bobbin out many times.....
The needle is picking up the bobbin thread but it's like the bobbin thread is trying to go through the needle so the needle thread all of sudden it no longer in the hole …. it's like a magic trick, but not funny.
It won't even sew one stitch. I've looked online to try to troubleshoot and the only thing that I can see is the timing??? Anyone run into this before? Any suggestions appreciated.

Just some thoughts. Needle in correctly, all the way up into the needle holder? Presser foot down? Bobbin turning in correct direction? Keep us posted.

Are you holding the thread tails as you start to stitch?

After trying and trying, and walking away, I sat back down to see if I could figure it out.
I had been threading my needle from the wrong side! It should be threaded on the left hand side. So when it was picking up the bobbin thread it was pulling it into the hole of the needle.
I'm letting you know so you can file this in the back of your minds in case you ever let a machine sit for so long that you forget how to use it.
Thank you Stitchripper and Jennifer23 for trying to help :o)

Glad to hear! A lot of times it is something simple that we miss

All of us have done this at one time or another, especially if it's been a while since we used the machine or we're using someone else's machine. Glad you're off and running again!

That is one reason I keep my manuals within easy reach. They are very tattered...and littered with Post-it notes.

Now I don't feel so odd, I thought I was the only one with post-it notes all over my manual.
