Hi, I wonder if anyone else has this problem. It only happens when machine quilting; supplier has had it back and returned a new one but problem continues; after about half an hour' work a burning smell indicates overheating of the pedal. I have only recently started machine quilting so it seems connected with working more slowly; I also find that the pedal is not very sensitive and has either a stop or fast speed - not helping my straight stitching !

Thanks

Wendy

That is so strange you post this because I have a Janome 6019 and have just started smelling a burning smell the past few weeks and wasn't sure where it was coming from.

Is your foot pedal getting hot-is that how you know it is the pedal??

I have to work my foot/ankle very carefully to moderate the speed of my machine to get a steady medium speed. I also seem to have power serges as well and that will make the machine go "postal fast" all the sudden (that I believe is related to the electrical wiring in the room I am using).

Hi, thanks for responding so quickly. Yes, it definitely is the footpedal and I have told the supplier that it is still happening. He said he will contact Janome and let me know - I will post his reply. I don't think it is the power supply at all, just the pedal doesn't have fine enough control.
