I think some of you have talked about a second switch plate for the 6600 that you use for FMQ. Am I remembering this correctly? Or is it a different bobbin case? Any help appreciated! :)

There is a special bobbin case for FMQ (with a blue dot instead of the red
which came with your machine) and a switch plate with a single hole.
They are both for FMQ.

Thank you! :)

There is also a stitch plate with a single needle hole. Mostly important for piecing as the single hole prevents fabric from being sucked into the bobbin, but I know some use it for FMQ as well (don't remember why).

BUT ... if you use this single hole plate remember to change it back to the regular plate before you use the machine for anything other than single needle in center position only (ie no zig zag, no moving needle over from center for 1/4", etc).

I have the plate with the single hole and use it for piecing...but i don't have the blue dot bobbin...for those of you who do..is it worth it and does it really make a difference???

I have the blue-dot bobbin holder and since I began using it for FMQ have had no bottom loops. Too bad it couldn't solve my stitch length!!

The bobbin makes a difference for stippling, it's a low tension bobbin case, especially made for stippling.

the special bobbin case has been great for my ego.

my freemotion quilting still stinks, but now you can only smell it from next door instead of 10 miles away.
