Hi:

Is there anyone out there that has done the IMA (invisible machine applique method) using their Janome 6600P that might share the machine stitch setup stitches/numbers with me?

I took a class from Kim Diehl (LOVE HER!) using my old Janome New Home and before I spend hours trying to figure out what the settings are on my new 6600P I thought I'd ask someone out there.

FYI, I used the zigzag stitch on my New Home because I didn't have any other stitch options. I used the applique open toe foot with the invisible thread from Sulkie (I have clear and smoke).

Thanks for your help in saving me hours, I'm sure, trying to figure it out on my own.

I would love to know more about invisible machine applique.
Does she have a book? After work..amazon here I come.

I took an in-person class from her, so that was helpful to me. She does have instructions in all of her books, however, and I own every one. She doesn't mention the machine settings though, which is why I am asking.

Honestly, she is probably the only designer where I buy her books and want to make EVERY ONE in the book. All her books have the word "blessings" in them.

Have fun shopping!

Beth Ferrier has excellent instructions/books too. I use the freezer paper starch method, blanket stitch with MonoPoly thread. Helps if your thread isnt on a skinny spool as it comes off too curly.

Suzanne: Just ran across your question regarding the Janome 6600 set up for invisible applique stitch. I am just trying this out on the same machine. Did you come up with the settings? Would love it if you would share.

I took a class awhile ago and we made a quilt from her "Simple Comforts" book. I agree, I would like to make all of her quilts. I haven't finished the quilt--needs backing, quilting, and binding--and I didn't write down the settings I used. It looks like I used 2--2. Do a practice square and use the smallest stitch you can that still catches the pieces. I looked at my top, but I can't see the stitches. lol That's how it's supposed to be and reinforces to me the need to keep notes. I usually do, but didn't this time. I have found that the only time I need the information is the time that I don't keep notes.
