Paid $1399 a few years ago for the 6600. Seems low for the 7700. I understood the price of the 7700 was fixed by Janome. I would question its origin!

I agree: good price on the 7700, price on the 6600 is high.

I think the 7700 is lower right now because they came out with the new machine - the 12000 or something like that.

I've seen the 7700 lower ... 2K which included a 12 pk of thread, the rolling carry case AND the table.

last Christmas DH said he would like to get me a LA that a friend had for sale for $3500 (sweet fella that he is). I asked him if he knew how big they were and he said no then decided a 12 foot machine would not fit in an 11 foot sewing room. So, I eagerly told him I would love to have a Janome Horizon since I had sew on my 6500 for 4 years and loved it but would really like the built in walking foot and other wonderful features it has. He said "get on the internet and do your magic with the price!" He was referring to the way I can find really good bargains on the internet and was also great at getting a really good price by wheeling and dealing. Well, a couple of phone calls and a lot of time in front of the computer later I had a $2300 price and a trade-in for my 6500 of $750 (paid $1100 4 years ago on sale). (The check I wrote was for $1900!!!, tax included) PS - dealers can do their own specials on the price - not up to Janome!

I have never for one second been regretful of that purchase. It is absolutely awesome. If you have a trade-in and a dealer who will deal - go for it!!! The $1900 is a great price and should include the extension table and maybe some other freebies - go for it girl!!! Good luck!!!

I would love to have the 7700 but I have a big investment in my Horn table and the 7700 wont fit in it. Not wiling to make the switch because of that.

Great price for the 7700....less than what I paid; but of course it is a yr. old now. Still, it is a wonderful machine and the 11" space to sew with is amazing.

Agreed, very high on all of them!

The 6600 is phased out. You should be able to get a better deal than that. Personnally the 7700 does not seem like a good thing to me. I don't want to pay for the embroidery options I don't want to use. Figure out what you really want.

Whatever you decide, be sure to take the new owners' class. I have been sewing for over 40 years but I learned a lot from my 2 classes. for example, I saw no reason for the start/stop button, but I put the foot pedal aside and only use the button now. My knees and lower back are much happier. My dealer told us about the options available. A couple I thought I would want I did not buy and others I did.

Go online and check the list prices. I think the 6600 lists at 1499.
