Janome 7700 Mystery!

Hello! Still trying to learn all about my "new to me" Janome Horizon 7700. Can someone please tell me what those little squares (made of small dots), next to L.S are for ? I can't find them explained anywhere! Thank you!

are they braille?

No. They appear on the stitch chart at the end of a series of stitches. This would be in the top lid as it is opened, and also on the screen.

See page 83 of your manual. Inserting a pattern. It's the space. Don't ask me how to use it. It's all Greek to me.

You will see the different groups of stitches on the inside the lid and some of the groups have the box next to the L.S. meaning you can use a space and the locking stitch with the stitches within that group. Interesting. I never looked at this before on my machine. Thanks for asking.

Okay! Thanks for your help! That answers my question. :)

If you are on Face Book there is a Janome group there that is quite helpful. You might consider joining that for answers as well. I love Quilting Board and visit every day and people are wonderful answering questions or sharing advice and tips. The Face Book site wouldn't take the place of that but I have learned some Janome specific things there.

Call your dealer....they should be able to help you out.

On my Bernina screen I have something that sounds similar. For me, it is an icon that opens up another screen of quilting stitches....?

It's the "space"....for when you want to break one stitch and start another. Try it on some scrap fabric.
