janome 7700 skip stitches

I have been making a table runner with batiks and I am having to worse time making it. It is skipping stitches about an inch to longer every few inches. I have changed thread needles cleaned my machine don't know what the issue is unless it is the batik fabric. Can anyone give me some idea????????

What needle are you using? Batiks are a tighter weave than quilting cottons. I use a topstitch or jeans needle.

Often when a DSM is skipping stitches during free motion, it's because the needle is being deflected by the movement of the fabric, so the stitch can't form. I don't know if that is the problem here, but if it is, slow down the movement of the quilt sandwich so the needle can get up and down without being pulled to the side.

Have you loosened the tension a tiny bit? Use the same thread on the spool and the bobbin? Stitched slowly? Do you have the bobbin case with the blue dot on it? Used a top stitch needle? Good luck!

Used 3 different needles, same thread in top and bottom, and tried changing the tension a couple times. The only thing I can think is the fabric because I did not wash the batik.
