There is a sewing center closing and I stopped by and they have floor models on sale.They are asking $2,295 for the 7700QCP.I don't know if this is a good price or a good machine,can ya'll help.I have a Janome and like the brand but know nothing about this machine.

That is a very good price. I paid $2495. for mine back in October, that was after an allowance of $500 for one of my old Janomes. I really like the machine.

I paid $2495 as well. That was on sale. There is a post here about surge protectors, I wish I would have read that sooner. 3 weeks after I purchased the house breaker blew twice. My machines circut fried. The LQS called Janome and they sent a new board, free. My LQS gave me a 6600 on loan, I much prefer and miss my 7700. Another good post here is about the monogram letters. They are not the greatest. Play with the machine at the shop really well. Make sure you like all it has to offer, or at least can live with it.

Perform a search here about it using "Horizon" and "7700" at least. Read all you can. Read reviews and threads about it on patternreview. Join thx yahoo group for it (very supportive, they share tips and solutions). Test drive it with fabrics, threads, and applications that you use to be sure that it will meet your needs. Good luck! Hope you end up with a machine uou love.

The main issue here would be so you buy it, then who would give you classes or support? For only a few hundred more you could buy the same machine and either get a trade-in amount, free classes, free thread etc. So, I'd compare my apples to my apples and decide if not having any of those things is worth the savings. Also, who would perform warranty work? It can be difficult to take in machines to other dealers and expect them to cover warranty labor on machines not purchased through them.

It's a good price. And it's a great machine.

I got mine when it first came out and paid full price $2,999 last June.
I love, absolutely love my 7700. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I even lug it to classes because quite frankly nothing compares to that machine. I thought about getting a travel machine that weighs a lot less, but they just don't feel the same. |
