From what I've read, the 8200 has some improvements over the 7700, especially concerning the ease of removing/ replacing feet. I decided to go with the 8900 myself as I want to do some decorative stitching. I've had mine less than a week, but really like it so far. |

I bought the 8900 in August. I love, love, love it. It has a lot of room for quilting and all those decorative stitches are great. I especially like the programmable stitches for starting and stopping quilting. I was going to buy the 7700 when I went shopping, but tried out the other two and decided on the 8900. It was only a few hundred difference in price. They were all great though. You won't be disappointed with one of those three.

I would probably almost always go with the "newer model" if the price difference was not a factor.

The needle threader is picky, you need to make sure the needle is position at the highest point.

The extra lighting is very nice. The only thing I haven't mastered is the needle threader but I could never master that on my Bernina either!

Well I have decided to buy the Janome Horizon 8200. I just couldn't justify spending $700 more for the few additional stitches that the 8900 has.
I pick up my new baby tomorrow! I'm so excited! :D |
I have the Janome Horizon 7700QCP. I love it.

I'm thinking of the 8900 also but I feel like I'm being a traitor to my Pfaff's......which has the widest throat?

Just wait a few months and the Janome 8900 will come down in price. That's what I want, and I've been watching the sales. I understand it is the machine that solved the problems from the 6600P through the 7700 and the 8200, and it's expected to be a "classic" machine for a long time to come. Or so I've heard.

It took me a while to figure out the needle threader also. the trick is you have to have the needle all the way up in the up position.
